'History of Nepali Sports' by Aryal is published
Kathmandu, Nabin Aryal, a sports journalist, published a book titled "History of Nepali Sports" on Tuesday. The book was brought by Aryal in partnership with the Sharad Chandra Shah Memorial Foundation, and it was released during a programme that took place in Kathmandu.
Dig Bahadur Limbu, the minister of youth and sports, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Renu Shah, Sharad Chandra Shah Memorial Foundation Chairperson Renu Shah, TS Thakuri, the chairman of publisher Creative Books, P Kharel, a professor of literature, and author Aryal all participated in the book's release.
Aryal, a 23-year veteran of the sports journalism industry, has written his first book in an effort to delve into the background of Nepali sports. The exhaustively researched book chronicles Nepal's history in sports from the country's first international competition to the present.
According to Aryal, the book tells the tale of how the Nepali sports community battled to earn medals and the trip they took via sports.
The book describes the role and contribution made by the leadership at the time to support homegrown sports despite scarce resources. The book includes historical photographs, letters, and news articles on Nepali sports that were published in local, national, and international media in order to make the book factual and trustworthy.
Minister of Youth and Sports Limbu stated during the event that the book will serve as a resource for athletes, coaches, and other sports-related professionals.
The book, according to Professor Kharel, is of very high calibre. Since the 1930s, I have been a sports journalist. I continue to write. This book also introduces me to some new subjects.
The book's release, according to NOC President Shrestha, is a historical event that will aid the next generation in understanding sports history. "This is a good beginning and a historic effort in and of itself. It also promotes the growth of Nepali sports, he added.
The book's author, Aryal, said that he thoroughly studied and addressed both old and recent issues in it. He thought it will clarify Nepali sports history for the new generation.
