The West Indies will play the UAE in a historic series to get ready for the ICC ODI Qualifiers

Kathmandu, ICC ODI Qualifiers are scheduled for June through July. Two teams, the USA and UAE, have advanced to the main qualification round after the playoff round. In Zimbabwe, the ODI qualifications will be held in June and July 2023. In addition to the USA and UAE, the qualifiers will feature the West Indies, the Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Scotland, Oman, Nepal, and Ireland. Only two of these teams will travel to India for the main competition.

The bilateral series will pit the West Indies and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) against one another for the first time ever, marking a momentous occasion for both nations. To get ready for the ICC ODI Qualifiers, they will play each other in a three-match series.

Both teams will now compete in the qualifiers that will be held in Zimbabwe in June and July after failing to gain direct qualification for the ICC World Cup 2023. From that round, one or two teams will move on to the main competition.

Beginning on June 5th, a series between the UAE and the West Indies will begin. The series' final game is scheduled to take place on June 9, while the second game will be played on June 7. The three contests will all be held in Sharjah.

Jimmy Adams, a former cricketer for the West Indies and current cricket director, began the series by playing the UAE. He claimed that it was a fantastic chance for their players to settle in before the qualifiers. In a statement, he stated:

"This is our first-ever bilateral trip, and we're happy to have committed to this historic three-match ODI series against the UAE since it will provide our players a fantastic chance to warm up before the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers. Additionally, it will give players who are not traveling to Zimbabwe the chance to gain important international experience in foreign settings, which will be very advantageous to their personal growth and development. We are pleased to collaborate closely with the ECB to organize the three games, and we see this as a growing cooperation."
