15th Kandel Consultancy Cup Set for March 7–8 in Melbourne

Melbourne, The 15th edition of the Kandel Consultancy Cup is set to take place in Melbourne on March 7 and 8, 2026. The tournament will be held at the Darebin International Sports Centre, bringing together Nepali football clubs from across Australia.

The prestigious competition will feature two categories: Open Age and 35+ (Forever Young). According to the organizers, teams from various Australian cities, including Sydney, Canberra, and Adelaide, will participate in the tournament.

The official tie-draw was recently unveiled during a special ceremony. In the Open category, 16 teams have been divided into four groups.

Group A features Homebush Rhino Football Club (Sydney), Khukuri FC (Canberra), Nepworn FC, and Yeti Football Club Red.

Group B includes Siddhakali FC (Adelaide), United Football Club, Royal Football Club, and Himalayan Football Club.

Group C comprises Everest United FC, Royal Western FC, ANE FC, and Chandra Surya FC.

Group D consists of Yeti FC Blue, Jagjit Shrestha Academy (Adelaide), The Himalayan Tigers, and Himalayan Youth Club (Sydney).

The tournament will follow a league-cum-knockout format and is regarded as the largest football competition among Nepali clubs in Australia. A total prize pool of AUD 22,000 has been announced. In the Open category, the champions will receive AUD 12,000, while the runners-up will be awarded AUD 4,500, along with trophies and medals. In the Forever Young category, the winners will earn AUD 2,500 and the runners-up AUD 1,000. Cash prizes will also be presented in various individual award categories.

In last year’s 14th edition final, Yeti Football Club defeated Royal Western Club 3–2 to claim the title.

The organizers have stated that several former Nepal national team players are expected to participate in the competition. Sajjan Sharma, Vice President of Yeti Football Club and the tournament coordinator, expressed confidence that the event will further strengthen unity and brotherhood within the Nepali community in Australia.
