Aditi Budhathoki Appointed Goodwill Ambassador of Kathmandu Spikers in EVWL
Kathmandu, August 14 – Popular Nepali actress, model, and influencer Aditi Budhathoki has been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for Kathmandu Spikers, a franchise team in the Vatsalya Everest Women's Volleyball League (EVWL).
The announcement was made by Kathmandu Spikers on Thursday, confirming the Mumbai-based celebrity's association with the team ahead of the second edition of the EVWL. Aditi, known for her interest in sports since childhood, is passionate about basketball, table tennis, and swimming.
Expressing her excitement, Aditi said, “I am extremely happy to be associated with volleyball – Nepal’s national sport – and especially with a team that represents the capital in such a historic league for women’s volleyball.”
She added, “Some experiences in life touch you deeply. Being the Goodwill Ambassador for Kathmandu Spikers in the second season of EVWL is one of those moments. Every time I see these athletes step onto the court, I feel an incredible wave of pride. They show young girls that it’s possible to be strong, fearless, and fully dedicated to their dreams – which I believe is the true purpose of this league.”
Aditi recently served as a digital presenter at the World Champion Legends League (WCL) held in London, where she interviewed legendary cricketers and created content for social media platforms.
She believes the EVWL is a milestone for the development of women’s volleyball in Nepal. Despite being based in Mumbai – India’s entertainment hub – Aditi has also worked in Nepali films, including Kri (2018) and Babari (2023). Her upcoming project, Devyol, a series on Amazon Prime, is set to be released soon.
Apart from acting, Aditi has appeared in numerous music videos and advertisements. Her Indian music video appearances include popular tracks like Tu Mera Nahi, Main Tera Ho Gaya, Maahiya Tu, Inni Si Gal, Paranda, and Hawa Banke.
Kathmandu Spikers features key national players such as team captain and star spiker Usha Bhandari, along with Manisha Chaudhary, Yamuna Rasailee, Rima Kunwar, Balmika Acharya, Kamala Pun, Ashika Kshetri, and Bhuvaneshwori Chand.
The team has also signed two foreign players: Bulgarian setter Kova Nikolaeva and Kazakhstani opposite hitter Alena Kolotizina. Lok Bahadur Budha has been appointed as the head coach for the upcoming season.
After finishing third in the inaugural season, Kathmandu Spikers aims to come back stronger in the second edition of the league and deliver an exceptional performance on the court.
Organized by Infinity Dreams, the second edition of the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EVWL) will be held from September 5 to 13 (Bhadra 20–28).
