ANFA Announces 35-Member Preliminary Squad for SAFF Women’s Championship 2026

Kathmandu – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has unveiled a 35-member preliminary squad for the upcoming SAFF Women’s Championship 2026. Head coach Nabin Neupane finalized the list of players who will represent Nepal in the prestigious regional tournament scheduled to be held in India.

Training and Tournament Schedule

According to ANFA, the first phase of closed-camp training will commence on Baisakh 14 (April 27) at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato.

The eighth edition of the SAFF Women’s Championship is set to take place at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa, India, from May 25 to June 7 (Jestha 11 to 24).

Eyeing the Historic Title

Nepal has a long-standing history as a perennial runner-up in the competition but has yet to clinch the championship trophy. Under the leadership of Coach Neupane, the "Cheli" (Nepalese women's team) will head to Goa with the singular objective of securing their first-ever historic title.

The Preliminary Squad:

The 35-member roster includes a mix of seasoned veterans and rising talents:

  • Goalkeepers: Anjila Tumbapo Subba, Anjana Rana Magar, Usha Nath.

  • Defenders/Midfielders/Forwards: Anita Basnet, Anita Lamjel, Anita KC, Asmita Nepali, Barsha Oli, Bimala BK, Bimala Chaudhary, Birsana Chaudhary, Deepa Shahi, Gita Rana, Hira Bhujel, Jennifer Rana, Manmaya Damai, Meena Deuba, Neha Kumari Chaudhary, Nisha Thokar, Punam Chemjong, Pratikhya Chaudhary, Preeti Rai, Puja Rana, Purnima Rai, Rashmi Kumari Ghising, Rekha Poudel, Renuka Nagarkoti, Sabina Chaudhary, Sajani Thokar, Samikshya Ghimire, Saraswati Hamal, Saru Limbu, Silu Pariyar, Shukriya Miya, and Sushila Kumari Chaudhary.
