Kathmandu, With the ANFA elections set for next year, voices from across the Nepali football community are growing louder — urging all stakeholders to ensure that the next leadership is non-political, competent, and committed to the game.

“With ANFA elections next year, all football personnel, districts, clubs, and stakeholders must ensure that the game is led by a non-political figure who can truly develop the nation’s most loved sport,” a message circulating widely among football circles reads.

The call reflects growing dissatisfaction with past leaderships allegedly influenced by political affiliations, personal interests, and short-term goals — often at the cost of grassroots development and national team performance.

Stakeholders from various districts, A and B Division clubs, coaches, and former players have echoed similar sentiments:

"Nepali football deserves a fresh, football-first approach — not just another administrator with political backing."

With Nepal’s football landscape at a crossroads, many believe the 2026 ANFA elections could be a turning point — provided the right, football-centric leader emerges.
