APF wins men's and women's football competition

Kaski, The APF Club of Armed Police Force has won gold medal in men's football under the 9th National Games.

The APF Club became champion after defeating Tribhuvan Army Club of Nepali Army in sudden death following a penalty shootout this evening.

The match reached the 'sudden death' as both teams scored four goals each in the penalty shootout that was held after match ended in a goalless draw following 30 minutes of extra time and 90 minutes of regular play.

Bishwas Das of APF won the gold medal for his team with the decisive goal in 'sudden death'.

A total of 11 teams had participated in men's football.

Similarly, Armed Police Force has clinched gold medal in women's football under the Ninth National Games.

In the final match held at Waling of Syanjya on Thursday, the APF clinched the title defeating Nepal Police Club by 2-0.

Sabitra Bhandari scored both the goals for her team. A total of 10 teams had participated in women's football.
