Kathmandu, August 6, 2025 — APF Football Club Women have officially appointed Chetan Ghimire as their new head coach for the upcoming AFC Women's Champions League qualifying campaign.
This marks a significant step as the departmental side gears up to represent Nepal on the continental stage. Ghimire, a former national team player with coaching experience at various levels, is expected to bring tactical discipline and motivation to the squad.
In a strategic move to strengthen the team, Samikshya Ghimire from Nepal Police Club and Bimala BK from TAFC (Tribhuvan Army Football Club) have also been included in the squad. Their addition is seen as a boost to APF’s midfield and defensive line, respectively.
The AFC Women’s Champions League is Asia’s premier club competition for women's football, and APF FC’s participation underscores the growing prominence of the women’s game in Nepal.
The team is expected to begin training shortly as they prepare to face top clubs from across the continent in the qualifying rounds.
