Church Boy's advance to the Itahari Gold Cup final

Itahari, The 14th Itahari Gold Cup final features The Church Boy's United. In the semi-final match played at the Itahari Stadium under the lights yesterday night, Church Boy's United won 1-0 over the organising Rastriya Jagriti Club.

The Church Boy's Club and the departmental team, Tribhuvan Army Club, will now face off for the championship on Saturday.

In addition, Church Club United won the Jhapa Gold Cup and finished second in the Itahari Gold Cup the previous year.

In the 89th minute of the game, Sameer Tamang of Church Boy's United scored the game's winning goal and was awarded Man of the Match, earning 10,000 rupees in cash. 

The Tribhuvan Army Club advanced to the championship final earlier on Wednesday night by defeating the Sagarmatha Club, the reigning champion, 2-1 in a penalty shootout.

This following Saturday, the tournament's final match will take place under the lights. One million rupees will be awarded to the tournament winner, while Rs 500,000 will go to the runner-up.
