Cricket players were among the five recipients of the clean chit

Kathmandu, Five people, including former national cricket player Mahaboob Alam and cricket all-rounder Adil Ansari, were cleared by the Kathmandu District Court of all charges related to match-fixing.

Five people detained on suspicion of match-fixing have been ruled not guilty by the bench of Judge Kamal Prasad Pokharel, who stated that the petitioners' evidence was insufficient.

The District Court of Kathmandu's information officer, Chandra Prasad Panthi, asserts that the court cleared the five individuals because the government's allegations against them were unfounded.

They were detained for allegedly arranging matches during the Nepal T-20 League, which took place in Kathmandu last year, but they were later freed after posting a 30,000 rupee bond.
