Nepali Team Shines with Multiple Medals

Bangkok, Thailand—June 28— Nepal’s karate sensation Erika Gurung has won a gold medal in the Senior Women’s +68 kg category at the Thailand Open Karate Championship, delivering a proud moment for the nation.

Erika defeated Thailand’s Chanakan Khiokham in the final bout to secure the top spot.

According to coach Kushal Shrestha, the Nepali team showcased impressive performance and fighting spirit throughout the tournament, bringing home a total of 1 gold, 1 silver, and 7 bronze medals.

This result highlights Nepal’s growing strength and talent in the international karate scene, especially among youth and senior female athletes.
