Kathmandu, August 6 – Rising cricket talent Prasiddha Jaisi, a member of the Nepal U-16 national men’s team, was among five cricketing personalities honored by the Kathmandu District Cricket Association (KDCA) during its 6th Annual General Assembly held on Wednesday.

Jaisi, who represented both Kathmandu district and Bagmati Province, played a vital role in helping Nepal win the ACC U-16 Eastern Region Cup, scoring 246 runs in six matches, including one century and one half-century.

In addition to Jaisi, the following individuals were also recognized for their contributions to Nepali cricket:

• Krishma Gurung, a prominent women's team player

• Vijay Kumar Jha, an ICC-certified umpire

• Durganath Subedi, a respected cricket official

• Samson Jung Thapa, head coach

Both Prasiddha Jaisi and Krishma Gurung received cash prizes of NPR 5,000 each.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including:

• Dipendra Shrestha, Member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly

• Dibakar Ghale, President of KDCA

• Paras Khadka, Secretary of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN)

• Durganath Pathak, Central Member of CAN

• Devendra Sherchan, President of Nepal Democratic Sports Federation

• Ashok Nath Pyakurel, Former Secretary of CAN

In his address, KDCA President Dibakar Ghale highlighted the organization's achievements over the past year, including the successful execution of six major programs, such as:

• Men’s and Women’s PM Cup Qualifiers

• U-19 Men’s Selection

• 2nd Jayakumar Nath Shah Memorial Inter-school Tournament (ACC U-16 East Zone Cup Qualifier)

• ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup and Asia Cup Qualifier

• ‘O’ Level Umpire and Coach Training Courses

The event underscored KDCA’s commitment to grassroots cricket development and recognition of emerging and contributing figures in Nepali cricket.
