Five-Member Nepali Team Departs for 12th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships
Kathmandu, A five-member Nepali team, including three athletes, departed for Tianjin, China on Tuesday to participate in the 12th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships.
The championship will be held from February 6 to 8. According to Nepal Athletics Association Secretary R.K. Bista, Sombahadur Kumal will compete in the men’s 400m and 800m events, while Salin Dewan will take part in the 60m sprint and long jump. Mukesh Pal is set to compete in the 1500m and 3000m races.
Nepal Athletics Association Vice President Santosh Kumar Dhakal has joined the team as an official, while Usha Karan Chaudhary, the chief coach of Nepal Athletics, is accompanying the squad as coach.
The team was officially seen off during a program organized on Friday by National Sports Council Member-Secretary Ram Charitra Mehta.
