Kathmandu – Former Nepal national cricket team head coach Pubudu Dassanayake has been appointed as the head coach of Biratnagar Kings for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Biratnagar Kings confirmed the signing of Dasanayake, who previously led Janakpur Bolts to victory in the inaugural NPL season. His return to the league adds experience and strategic leadership to the team.
Dasanayake, a well-known figure in associate cricket, currently serves as the head coach of the United States national cricket team. Under his guidance, the U.S. recently won all four matches in the Triangular Series held in the UAE as part of the ICC World Cup League 2, topping the points table.
For the upcoming NPL season, leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will feature as Biratnagar Kings’ marquee player. The franchise aims to leverage Dasanayake’s expertise to strengthen their squad and compete for the title.
