Pokhara – The first-ever Inter-School Boys/Girls Six-a-Side Hockey Tournament is set to kick off in Pokhara on Tuesday. The event will be held at the Multipurpose Covered Hall in Pokhara Stadium, organized by the District Hockey Association, Kaski.

According to the organizers, the tournament will feature 34 teams from 17 schools across Kaski, Tanahun, and Bhaktapur districts. Both boys’ and girls’ categories will see participation from 17 schools each.

Hockey coach and President of the Kaski District Hockey Association, Hit Gurung, confirmed that all preparations for the event have been completed. “We will hold the opening ceremony tomorrow (Tuesday) at noon,” Gurung told Pokhara Sports.

The three-day competition is being conducted with technical support from the Nepal Hockey Association and the Provincial Hockey Association. Winners will be awarded cash prizes, along with trophies, medals, and certificates, according to Gandaki Hockey President Dipak Thapa.

Organizers said this is the first time in Kaski’s hockey history that such a large number of schools are participating in a single event.
