ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia qualifier : Thailand triumphs over Nepal

Kathmandu, In their first semi-final game, which was played today as part of the ICC Women's Twenty-20 World Cup Asia Region qualifier, Nepal was defeated by Thailand.

In the game played at the UKM YSD Oval cricket venue in Malaysia, Thailand thrashed Nepal by 46 runs. Nepal's hopes of competing in the World Cup Global Qualifiers have been crushed by this setback.

Thailand set Nepal a win goal of 106 runs, but they were held to a total of 59 runs all-out in 19.3 overs. For Nepal, Kabita Kunwar scored the most runs with 11, while Apsari Begum and Kabita Joshi each scored 10 runs. The other Nepali hitters were unable to score more than ten runs.

Three Nepali wickets were taken by Thai bowlers Onicha Kamchomphu and Thipachcha Puthawang, two by Nataya Buchatham, one each by Phanita Maya and Sunida Chaturangaratna, and one by Onicha Kamchomphu.

Thailand scored 105 runs in the allotted 20 overs while losing two wickets after being asked to bat first after losing the toss earlier. Nanapat Koncharoenkai scored the most runs for Thailand with 59 from 63 balls, including four fours. Nathakam Chantham scored 31 runs, and Chunida Sutiruang scored 11 runs while going unpunished.

For Nepal, Kabita Kunwar and Puja Mahato each grabbed one wicket.

With this triumph, Thailand has qualified for the World Cup global qualifiers and advanced to the tournament's final. Thailand, who won Group 'B,' and Nepal, who finished second in Group 'A,' both advanced to the semifinals.
