Indo-Nepal Karate Championship to Kick Off Friday in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, September 3 – The Indo-Nepal Karate Championship, organized by Samriddhi School, is set to begin this Friday. The two-day tournament will feature competitions in both kata and kumite across 45 categories, as announced by event coordinator Ravi Shahi during a press conference held on Wednesday.
According to ECS Director Bikash Shahi, a total of 283 athletes will participate in the event, including 162 male and 121 female competitors. The participants represent 25 schools from Nepal and 5 from India, with 20 athletes arriving from India.
Trophies will be awarded to the champion and runner-up teams. In addition, the best male and female athletes in kumite and one outstanding performer in kata will receive special awards. Recognition will also be given to the best coach and referee of the tournament.
All matches will be held on the premises of the host school in Banasthali, Kathmandu.
The press conference was also attended by Samriddhi School’s Administrative Director Dipendra Upreti and Operations Director Dinesh Maharjan.
