International taekwondo referee Dhakal feted
Kathmandu, Deependra Dhakal, an international taekwondo referee, has received congratulations from the Nepalese Embassy in Vienna, the Austrian capital. The Embassy honored him, emphasizing how he used sports to promote Nepal around the world.
During a celebration held at the Embassy on Wednesday, Ambassador Bharat Kumar Regmi honored Dhakal by presenting him with a silk scarf and the traditional Nepalese cap known as a "dhaka topi" as a sign of his appreciation.
Dhakal has officiated taekwondo matches with international standing that have taken place in European nations. As a referee for Nepal at the Austrian Open International Taekwondo Championship, he is now in Austria.
Also, he is expected to take part in a competition in the Spanish city of Alicante. Dhakal participated in the international referee selection for the "Paris Olympics, 2024" as well.
