Janakpur Bolts Sign Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton for Second NPL Season

The defending champions strengthen their squad with the Namibian batter as the fourth overseas signing

Kathmandu, November 12 – Defending champions Janakpur Bolts have signed Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, a talented batter from Namibia, for the upcoming second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Loftie-Eaton becomes the fourth overseas player to join Janakpur ahead of the tournament. The Bolts have already roped in Lahiru Milantha, a Sri Lankan-origin American cricketer, along with Wayne Parnell and Imran Tahir from South Africa.

The 21-year-old Loftie-Eaton has represented Namibia in 51 T20 Internationals and is known for his explosive batting in the middle order. He previously featured for Chitwan Rhinos during the first edition of the NPL.

Janakpur Bolts are currently under the coaching of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, with Aasif Sheikh serving as the team’s marquee player. Core squad members such as Anil Kumar Sah, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Kishor Mahato, Rupesh Singh, and Tul Bahadur Thapa Magar have been retained from the previous season.

Additionally, the team has signed Mayan Yadav, Aditya Mehta, Bikash Agri, and Sachin Bhatt through the players’ auction.

The second edition of the Nepal Premier League will be held from November 16 to December 12 (Mangsir 1–27), featuring eight teams—Janakpur Bolts, Sudurpaschim Royals, Karnali Yaks, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gurkhas, and Lumbini Lions.
