Karnali Yaks Captain Sompal Kami Blames Team Weaknesses and Chitwan’s Strong Batting for Defeat
Kathmandu — Karnali Yaks captain Sompal Kami said his team lost the match due to some internal weaknesses and Chitwan Rhinos’ strong batting performance.
Speaking to journalists after Tuesday’s match, Kami admitted that a few shortcomings cost them the game but expressed confidence that the team would perform better in the upcoming matches.
“We lost today because of some mistakes on our side and Chitwan’s excellent batting. The tournament is still long, and we will come back stronger. We must perform well in the next match,” Kami said.
He added that mistakes happen in cricket, and the same happened today, but assured that the team would make a “200 percent comeback” in the next game.
Meanwhile, Chitwan Rhinos’ coach Kamal Ali said the team won because they got the start they had planned for.
“We got exactly the kind of start we had expected. We came with a clear plan, and that’s why we succeeded in winning the match,” Ali said.
