Karnali Yashiv Retains Everest Women’s Volleyball League Title

Kathmandu, November 14 – Defending champions Karnali Yashiv successfully retained their crown in the second edition of the Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWVL) after a thrilling final against Lalitpur Queens.

The championship match, held at the National Sports Council (RSC) Covered Hall on Saturday, saw Karnali clinch victory 3–2 in a fiercely contested battle. Karnali took the first two sets 26–24 and 25–17, but Lalitpur fought back to win the next two sets 25–13 and 25–17. In the decisive fifth set, Karnali dominated 15–8 to secure the title.

Originally scheduled in Pokhara from September 20–28, the tournament was relocated to Kathmandu due to disruptions caused by the Janajati movement. The league featured participation from six franchise teams, showcasing some of the country’s top women’s volleyball talent.

Karnali Yashiv’s captain credited the team’s unity and mental resilience for their triumph, while organizers praised all teams for making the league competitive and exciting.
