Kathmandu Gorkhas Defeat Chitwan Rhinos by 53 Runs in NPL
Kathmandu—Kathmandu Gorkhas registered a commanding 53-run victory over Chitwan Rhinos in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) match held on Friday at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Chasing a target of 143 runs set by Kathmandu, Chitwan struggled throughout the innings and was bowled out for just 89 runs in 17.1 overs.
For Chitwan, Dev Khanal and Ravi Bopara contributed 21 runs each, while Sohail Tanvir added 18 runs, but none of them were able to build a substantial partnership to keep the chase alive.
Kathmandu’s bowling attack proved decisive, with Rashid Khan taking 3 wickets. Captain Karan KC, Milind Kumar, and Dipesh Kandel grabbed two wickets apiece, while Santosh Yadav picked up one wicket.
With this match, Chitwan has now played four games, winning two and losing two. Kathmandu, on the other hand, has secured three wins from their five matches so far.
