Lumbini Lavaz Sign Russian Volleyball Star Veronika Zubareva for Everest Women’s Volleyball League
Kathmandu – Franchise team Lumbini Lavaz has signed Russian player Veronika Zubareva for the upcoming second season of the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWHL). The tournament is organized by Infinity Dreams Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with the Nepal Volleyball Association.
Zubareva, known for her strong presence as a middle blocker, has showcased impressive performances in various top-tier Russian leagues and clubs. Her skills in powerful blocking, quick reflexes, and ability to score decisive points at the net are expected to make a significant impact for Lumbini Lavaz this season.
Team manager Stuti Niraula confirmed that two more foreign players will be announced in the coming days to further strengthen the squad. She expressed confidence that the inclusion of international talent will elevate the team’s performance and competitiveness.
In the domestic player auction earlier, Lumbini Lavaz had already secured key national talents, including Nepal national team captain Arun Shahi, along with Kamala Bista, Alisha Manandhar, Shantikala Tamang, Anusa Chaudhary, Roma Mahato, Jenisa Bishwakarma, and Rikjana Majhi. The full squad is currently undergoing intensive training ahead of the league.
The second edition of the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League is set to take place in Pokhara from September 5 to 13 (Bhadra 20 to 28).
