Matt Ross Resigns as Head Coach of Nepal National Men’s Football Team

Kathmandu, October 30 — Matt Ross, the head coach of the Nepal national men’s football team, has resigned from his position, the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) confirmed on Monday.

Ross, an Australian coach, had signed a one-year contract with ANFA in Falgun (February) earlier this year. However, he decided to step down after eight months in charge. ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai confirmed the resignation and stated that the reasons for his departure will be shared at a later date.

During Ross’s tenure, the Nepali team played seven international matches, winning one, drawing two, and losing four. Under his guidance, Nepal secured a notable victory in his first match against Singapore.

Following Ross’s resignation, ANFA is expected to review options for appointing a new head coach to lead the national team in upcoming competitions.
