NEPAL'S VICTORY AGAINST SRI LANKA

Kathmandu, In the second match of the ongoing (SABA) Women's Basketball Championship in the Maldives, Nepal defeated the former champion Sri Lanka 55-49 on Tuesday night.

In the first match, Nepal was defeated by the home team with the result of 51-47. In the 13th South Asian Games held in Nepal in 2019, Maldives succeeded in avenging their defeat against Nepal.

Nepal was under pressure to win Tuesday match to remain in the title race. Since only Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Maldives are participating, the team with the highest number of points will be the champion.

After losing the first match, Nepal is under pressure to win all the matches for the title. This is the second edition of the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Women's Basketball Championship.

Earlier in 2016, Nepal became the runner-up when they lost to Sri Lanka in the final of the first edition held in Nepal.
