Nepal’s Para Taekwondo Coach Kaviraj Negi Lama Wins World Taekwondo 2025 Best Para Taekwondo Coach Award

Kathmandu, Nepal’s para taekwondo coach Kaviraj Negi Lama has been honored with the 2025 Best Para Taekwondo Coach Award by World Taekwondo (WT).

Lama received the prestigious award at the World Taekwondo Gala Awards held on Monday in Fujairah, UAE. Serving as the head coach of Nepal’s national para taekwondo team since 2015, Lama has guided Nepal to win 13 international official-level medals.

Under his coaching, Nepalese athletes have achieved remarkable success in events ranging from the Paralympics to the Asian Para Games, securing 3 gold, 2 silver, and 8 bronze medals in various international competitions.

Lama’s accolades also include the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award for Best Coach of the Year, the 2022 NOC Best Coach Award from the Nepal Olympic Committee, the 2024 Best Para Taekwondo Coach Award from the National Sports Council, the 2024 Best Coach Award from the Nepal Taekwondo Association, and the 2082 Best Coach Award from the Bagmati Province Sports Development Council.

In a press release, Nepal Taekwondo Association Secretary General Hemant Dangi stated that Lama’s international recognition has elevated the profile of Nepal and Nepali athletes globally, serving as an inspiration for the next generation of players and coaches.
