Kathmandu — The Cricket Association of the Blind, Nepal (CAB Nepal) has announced a 16-member national women’s squad for the upcoming first-ever T20 Women’s Blind Cricket World Cup.

This historic tournament will be held from November 12 to November 23 across India and Sri Lanka. Nepal was initially selected as one of the co-hosts of the World Cup; however, due to recent political circumstances, the hosting rights were shifted entirely to Sri Lanka.

The team will be guided by Head Coach Puran Singh Khatri, assisted by Nahedra Niraula as the assistant coach, and Bhagwati Bhattarai Baral will serve as the team manager.

Nepal holds a special place in the history of women’s blind cricket. It was in 2006 that CAB Nepal introduced women’s blind cricket for the first time in the world, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the sport. Since then, the game has expanded to seven countries, including India, England, Australia, Pakistan, and the USA.
