Nepal defeated Ireland 'A' by a margin of six wickets

Kathmandu, In today's opening T20 series encounter, Nepal defeated Ireland 'A' by a margin of six wickets.

Nepal, chasing a 122-run mark set by Ireland, reached the winning target in 16.1 overs with four wickets lost. Kushal Bhurtel scored 37 runs off of 32 balls, including four fours, to help Nepal win.

In a similar vein, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 20 with two fours and one six in 12 balls, after Sundeep Jora contributed 36 in 35 balls with three boundaries and two sixes. In 11 balls, Asif Sheikh scored 16 runs with two fours and a six, while Gulshan Jha added four runs to the team total.

When it came time to bowl, Ireland's Gareth Delany claimed two wickets, then Ben White and Thom Mayes each grabbed one.

Previous to this, Ireland 'A' won the toss and elected to bat first at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. They were all out after 20 overs with 121 runs.

Stephen Doheny of Ireland led the team in scoring with 46, followed by Matthew Humphreys and Liam McCarthy with 16 each. After Fionn Hand scored eleven, the other players were unable to score in double digits.

Lalit Rajbanshi, Gulshan Jha, and Kushal Bhurtel got two wickets apiece, while Karan KC and Kushal Malla each claimed one wicket in response to Nepal's bowling attack. Tomorrow is when the teams will play their second match.
