Nepal defeats UAE 'A' in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup by three wickets

Kathmandu, The United Arab Emirates 'A' were defeated by Nepal by three wickets in a 2023 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup match. Sri Lanka's capital city of Colombo, P. Sara, hosted the game. Nepal successfully chased down the 168-run goal set by UAE 'A' in 23 overs with losing seven wickets.

Kushal Bhurtel scored the most runs for Nepal with 71 off 43, including nine boundaries and four sixes. Dev Khanal and Sandip Jora each donated 24, in a similar manner. Captain Rohit Paudel made nine, and Gulsan Jha made 11. On eight and two points, respectively, Pratish GC and Kushal Malla continued to be unblemished.

Mohammad Faraazuddin of the UAE took five wickets by himself on the way to victory, and Muhammad Jawadullah took two.

Prior to then, the UAE elected to bat first after winning the toss, scoring 157 runs in 44 overs while losing all of their wickets. Lovepreet Singh of the UAE played 82 balls with six fours and one six, giving the team 52.

Ashwanth Valthapa and Aryansh Sharma played with 16 and 14, respectively, while Ethan D'Souza scored 18.

When it came to bowling, Kushal Bhurtel of Nepal alone grabbed 6 wickets, while Shyam Dhakal claimed 2 wickets. Both Pawan Sarraf and Kushal Malla took one wicket, one each. The 'A' teams from Nepal and the UAE have also been eliminated from the competition along with this game.

Nepal lost against Pakistan 'A' by four wickets and to India (A) by nine wickets in the first game.
