Kathmandu, Uganda lifted the title of Women’s T20 International Series after they registered a 3-2 victory over host Nepal at T.U. International Cricket Stadium, Kritipur, Kathmandu on Saturday.

Host Nepal registered a 33-run victory over East African nation Uganda in the fifth and last match of T20 International Series as Uganda clinched the Series title by 3-2.

Nepali bowlers dominated the Ugandan innigs they restricted  the visitors for just 90 runs with the  loss of six wickets in the allocated 20 overs match.

Indu Barma and Sita Rana Magar claimed two wickets each while Ashmita Karmacharya and Hiramayai Roy contributed one wicket apiece for home team to end series 

with a win.

Rita Musamali scored highest 26 runs for the visitors. Her 26 came off in 38 balls while opener Kevin Awino scored 15 runs off 22 balls that included a single boundary and Shakirah Sadick scored unbeaten 13 runs off 17 balls that included a single six.

Similarly, Janet Mbabazi hit 10 runs off 12 balls that included two boundaries and others batters of visitor’s Uganda failed to make double digits.

Earlier, Uganda won the toss and invited host Nepal to bat. The host posted 123 for 6 in the allocated 20 overs match.

Opener Jyoti Pandey scored highest 49 runs off 61 balls that included three boundaries while Kabita Joshi scored unbeaten 18 runs off 15 balls that included two boundaries and a six and opener Sita Rana Magar hits 17 runs  24 balls that included three boundaries.

Jyoti Pandey was declared Player of the Match for her remarkable performance and  Janet Mbabazi was declared Player of the Series for her 105 runs and five wickets in the five match series against home team Nepal.

Similarly, Apsari Begam contributed 11 runs off 5 balls that included two boundaries but others batters of Nepal returned to the pavillion without reaching double digit mark.

Concy Aweko and Phiona Kulume grabbed one wicket each for visitor’s Uganda.
