Kathmandu – Nepal will take on the West Indies today in their third Group Stage match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, with the team under immense pressure to secure a victory.
The match between the Nepal national cricket team and the West Indies cricket team will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, starting at 11:15 AM Nepali time.
Nepal have suffered defeats in their opening two group matches, making the remaining fixtures crucial for their chances of progressing further in the tournament. A win today is essential for Nepal to stay alive in the competition.
In contrast, the West Indies are on the verge of qualifying for the Super 8 stage, having secured back-to-back victories in their first two matches. A win today would confirm their place in the next round, while a defeat for Nepal would see them eliminated from the tournament with one match still to play.
The West Indies are two-time T20 World Cup champions, having lifted the title in 2012 and 2016. Currently ranked seventh in the ICC T20 International rankings, the side is led by captain Shai Hope and is widely recognized for its explosive power-hitting lineup.
For Nepal, opener Kushal Bhurtel will once again be under the spotlight at the top of the order. All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee is expected to play a key role with both bat and ball, while leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane could prove decisive in the bowling department.
