Nepal Hockey Association Signs Landmark Agreement with Dhulikhel Municipality for Infrastructure Development
Kathmandu, August 14 – In a major step towards the development of hockey in Nepal, the Nepal Hockey Association has signed an agreement with Dhulikhel Municipality to acquire land for building hockey infrastructure.
The agreement was signed on Thursday between Suvarna Shrestha, General Secretary of the Nepal Hockey Association and member of the Executive Committee of the National Sports Council, and Ashok Byanju, Mayor of Dhulikhel Municipality.
As per the agreement, the municipality will provide approximately 200 ropanis of land in Ward No. 12 to the Hockey Association for a period of 40 years. The land will be used to build a full-fledged hockey stadium, a hostel-equipped academy, and dedicated training facilities.
General Secretary Shrestha stated that the project will also include the construction of a parapet with a seating capacity of 1,000 spectators.
This agreement marks a significant milestone in the promotion and growth of field hockey in Nepal, providing long-term infrastructure support to nurture talent and host national-level competitions.
