Nepal makes its debut in Asia Cup cricket

Kathmandu, Nepal is currently playing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. The opening match of the sixteenth edition of the Asia Cup will take place at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Pakistan today at 3:15 p.m.

The Nepalese cricket team is all set to play Pakistan, the number one-ranked nation in the world, in an ODI. Today is the first meeting between Pakistan and Nepal. The Asia Cup is being hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Nepal qualified for the Asia Cup after being crowned champions in the last ACC Premier Cup held in Vaisakh. In the final match of that tournament, Nepal defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by seven wickets.
    
Of the 13 matches in the Asia Cup, four will be played in Pakistan, and the remaining nine will be played in Sri Lanka. The tournament will feature the Six Nations. The tournament was divided into two groups, with Group A comprising Nepal, India, and Pakistan and Group B comprising Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

Nepal will play their second group stage match against India in Sri Lanka on May 18. The Nepalese squad includes captain Rohit Kumar Paul, Ashif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalitnarayan Rajvanshi, BHIM Sarki, Kushal Malla, Dipendrasinh Airi, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Arif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, Arjun Saud, Pratishjisi, Kishore Mahto, Sandeep Jora, and Shyam Dhakal.
