Nepal National Football Team Bids Farewell for Matches Against Bangladesh and Malaysia

Kathmandu, November 10 – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bid farewell to the Nepal national football team on Monday ahead of their upcoming international friendly against Bangladesh and the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier match against Malaysia.

The farewell ceremony was attended by Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta, ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, and other officials. Minister Gupta extended best wishes to the team, urging the players to perform with determination and pride to uphold the nation’s sporting reputation.

Nepal is scheduled to play an international friendly match against Bangladesh on November 13, followed by the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Malaysia on November 18.

Interim head coach Hari Khadka had earlier announced a 23-member squad under the captaincy of Kiran Chemjong. The squad features a mix of experienced and young players, reflecting a balanced lineup aimed at achieving positive results.

The announced team includes Abhishek Limbu, Aditya Shakya, Ananta Tamang, Anjan Bista, Eric Bista, Ayush Ghalan, Bishal Sunar, Deep Karki, Dinesh Henjan, Dipesh Gurung, Gillespie Jung Karki, Kushal Deuba, Laken Limbu, Manikumar Lama, Manish Dangi, Rohit Chand, Rohan Karki, Sanish Shrestha, Subash Bam, Sumit Shrestha, Suman Shrestha, and Yogesh Gurung.

According to ANFA, the team will travel to Bangladesh first and then head to Malaysia for the crucial AFC Asian Cup Qualifier. The inclusion of several young players is seen as part of Nepal’s long-term strategy to strengthen the national squad and build for future competitions.
