Nepal continued its impressive run at the ongoing Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) U-19 Women’s Championship in Colombo, Sri Lanka, securing its second consecutive victory on Thursday.
In its third and final league-stage match, Nepal outclassed the Maldives 3–0 in straight sets. The young Nepali squad dominated the match, winning comfortably with scores of 25–7, 25–10, and 25–11.
With this victory, Nepal has now collected seven points from three matches. Earlier in the tournament, Nepal had suffered a narrow 2–3 defeat against Kyrgyzstan but made a strong comeback by defeating the host nation Sri Lanka 3–1 in its second match.
The championship features four participating nations, competing in a single round-robin format. The top teams from the league standings will advance to the semifinal stage.
Nepal’s strong performance in the group stage has made them a firm contender for a semifinal berth as they continue to display excellent teamwork and consistency in the regional competition.
