Kathmandu, Nepal has secured a spot in the semifinals of the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup, currently being held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). On Thursday, Nepal clinched a convincing 119-run victory over Hong Kong to seal their place in the final four.
With back-to-back wins, Nepal topped its group to advance to the semifinals. Earlier on Tuesday, Nepal had registered a dominant eight-wicket win against Saudi Arabia.
Chasing a challenging target of 271 runs, Hong Kong were bowled out for just 105 runs in 40.5 overs. Nepal’s disciplined bowling attack ensured Hong Kong never found momentum during the chase.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal posted a strong total of 270 for 7 in 50 overs, setting up a formidable platform for victory.
Nepal will next face Malaysia in the semifinals on Saturday, while UAE and Oman will contest the other semifinal.
