Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan — Nepali athletes have achieved an impressive victory at the International Hapkido Championship held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, from June 24 to 25, jointly organized by the Kyrgyzstan Hapkido Federation and the Global Hapkido Association. Nepal secured two gold medals and one silver medal in the competition.
According to Kali Bahadur Gharti, president of the Nepal Hapkido Martial Arts Association, Samir Gurung won a gold medal in the men’s 55–59 kg weight category, while Rajendra Tamang claimed gold in the above 60 kg category. Additionally, Saroj Gurung won a silver medal in the 51–55 kg category.
President Gharti described the achievement as a historic milestone, stating that the victory reaffirms the capability and potential of Nepali Hapkido athletes on the international stage.
