Nepali eves win against Malaysia

Kathmandu, Nepal registered a 25-run victory over host Malaysia in their last match of the ICC U-19 T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers 2022 held at Oval, Bangi, Malaysia on Thursday.

Nepal has already crashed out of the qualifiers and United Arab Emirates (UAE) has booked their ticket to South Africa for the ICC U-19 Women’s T20  World Cup to be played next year.

The top two teams from the qualifiers will directly qualify for the final stage of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 

World Cup.

After the end of the qualifiers, UAE topped the league with the cent percent result of 10 points from five matches while Thailand sealed their journey by finishing at the second spot with eight points from five matches while Nepal remained at the third place with six points from five matches.

Similarly, host Malaysia finished their qualifiers at the fourth spot with four points from five matches while Qatar ended at the fifth position with just two points from five matches and Bhutan ended at the bottom of the qualifiers standing with zero points from five matches they played.

Nepali eves won the toss and elected to bat first and they scored 86 runs with loss of seven wickets in the allocated 20 overs. Opener Anjali BK scored the highest 33 runs off 54 balls for Nepal. She hit two boundaries while Ashma Pulami Magar hit 26 runs off 38 balls that included a single boundary but ther batters failed to reach double 

digit mark.

Earlier, Nepal made a poor start as their opener Kiran Kumari Kunwar run out in the just zero run but her opening partner and player of the match Anjali BK rescued team Nepal as she alone collected 33 runs for Nepal.

Nur Dania Syuhada Abedul Samad grabbed two wickets and Elsa Hunter took one wicket for the home team.

Likewise, Nepali bowlers bowled very well as they dismissed the host for 61 runs for four wickets.

Kritika Marasini grabbed two wickets and Manisha Kumari Upadhayay took one wicket for the winning team.

Hunter scored the highest 28 runs off 32 balls include three 

boundaries but other batters of the host team failed to face an attacking bowling attack from visitor Nepal in the clash.
