Nepali Taekwondo Team Bids Farewell for Malaysia Open International Championship
Kathmandu, August 6 – A six-member Nepali taekwondo team, including four athletes, was officially bid farewell on Wednesday ahead of their participation in the Malaysia Open International Taekwondo Championship, to be held in Kuala Lumpur on August 9 and 10.
The team features the following male athletes:
Kenish Khadka (under 40kg)
Ayush Bohora (under 56kg)
Govinda Yonjan Tamang (under 66kg)
Sandeep Basnet (under 74kg)
In addition to the sparring event, Ayush Bohora will also compete in the individual poomsae category.
The team, which will depart for Kuala Lumpur on Friday, is led by Team Manager Mahendra Raj Ghimire and Coach Shreekrishna Khadka.
The athletes were given an official send-off by National Sports Council Vice President Dhruba Acharya during a special program held on Wednesday, where he extended best wishes for their success in the international tournament.
