Nepali Taekwondo Team to Compete in 8th Heroes International Championship in Thailand
Kathmandu – A seven-member Nepali taekwondo team is set to depart for Pattaya, Thailand, on Friday to participate in the 8th Heroes International Taekwondo Championship, scheduled to take place on August 9 and 10.
The team includes four athletes who will compete in various categories:
Bisheshchandra Gami – U-9 Male Individual Poomsae
Lavyog Sunuwar – Below 45 kg
Sandesh Lamichhane – Below 27 kg
Arpan Kumal – Below 41 kg
The coaching staff includes Saroj Tamang and Gaurav Rajak, while Rajendra Dangol and Muna Khawas will represent Nepal as referees.
Prior to departure, the team was officially farewelled during a special program on Thursday by Bikram Khadgi, president of the Kathmandu District Taekwondo Association; Kumar Lama Ghising, member of the Nepal Taekwondo Association; and senior coach Arjunbhakta Rai.
The participation aims to provide international exposure to young talents and strengthen Nepal’s presence in global taekwondo competitions.
