NOC Launches “Road to LA Olympic Games 2028” Program, Eight Athletes Awarded Scholarships
Kathmandu — The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) has officially launched and signed the “Road to LA Olympic Games 2028” initiative, marking a significant milestone in Nepal’s long-term elite athlete development strategy. The program was formally announced on 19 December 2025 in Kathmandu.
Under the Olympic Athlete Scholarship Program, eight top-performing Nepali athletes from different sports disciplines have been selected to receive monthly financial support aimed at enhancing international competition exposure, high-performance training, and livelihood stability in preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Each selected athlete will receive a monthly scholarship of USD 1,125, effective from September 1, 2025, until the LA 2028 Olympic Games.

According to the NOC, the program is designed to deliver structured, sustained, and athlete-centered support, reducing financial barriers and enabling Nepal’s leading athletes to train and compete at international standards on the road to LA 2028.
Continued Support for Asian Games and Youth Olympic Games
In addition to the LA 2028-focused initiative, the NOC also announced the continuation of its NOC Athlete Scholarship Program for athletes preparing for major upcoming multi-sport events, including the Aichi–Nagoya Asian Games 2026 and the Dakar Youth Olympic Games 2026.
Athletes selected for these events will receive monthly financial assistance of NPR 50,000, starting from January 1, 2026, until the conclusion of their respective Games.
