Oman beats Singapore by 22 runs in the Asia Qualifier for the ICC T20 World Cup
Kathmandu, Oman, has defeated Singapore by 22 runs in today's match held under the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.
Oman posted a target of 175 runs before Singapore in today's match held at Kirtipur-based TU International Cricket Ground.
In response, Singapore was limited to 152 runs, losing eight wickets in 20 overs. Surendran Chandramohan made the most runs in 31 balls for Singapore, followed by Manpreet Singh with 31, Aritra Dutta with 13, and Anish Paraam with 12 runs. Other players in Singapore could not make double-digit runs.
Towards bawling, Bilal Khan and Ahmad Fayyaz Butt took two wickets each for Oman, while Shakeel Ahmad, Zeeshan Maqsood, and Aaqib Ilyas Sulheri took one wicket each.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Oman collected 174 runs by losing six wickets in 20 overs. Aaqib Ilyas Sulheri made 63 runs in 35 balls, Prathik Athavale made 42 runs, Zeeshan Maqsood made 26 runs, and Khashyapkumar Prajapati made 12 runs.
Similarly, Janak Prakash, Anish Paraam, and Ramesh Kalimuthu took two wickets each for Singapore.
With this, Oman registered its second consecutive win in the championship. Oman had defeated Malaysia by 32 runs in the match held on Monday. Nepal had defeated Singapore by eight wickets in the match held on Monday.
