Players for the 19th Asian Games are greeted by PM Dahal

Kathmandu, At the team's Thursday farewell at his office in Baluwatar, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, aka "Prachanda," sent his best wishes.

The athletes are departing for the 19th Asian Games, which will take place from September 23 to October 8 in Guangzhou, China.

In this instance, PM Dahal acknowledged that a technical issue caused a delay in awarding the participants' prizes. However, the amount of the announced award will be decided at the Cabinet meeting on Friday.

The PM also mentioned that the government had made suitable preparations for the athletes while they were competing in China. "I think you'll gain more respect from the nation, and it'll be a great time. I'll be at the Games' opening ceremony, he informed the group, adding that he would also enjoy the Asian Games.

Following his visit to the USA, PM Dahal is expected to arrive in China just in time for the opening of the Asian Games.

Dig Bahadur Limbu, the minister for youth and sports, also sent his warmest wishes to the athletes.

With its 253 participants, Nepal will compete in 29 various games. There are 127 female players among them.

The sports in which Nepal competes include basketball, archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, canoeing, cricket, cycling, e-sports, football, golf, handball, judo, karate, rugby, shooting, squash, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, tennis, wrestling, triathlon, and weightlifting.
