PM Cup Volleyball : Help Nepal and Army Club each recorded four victories

Kathmandu, At the 7th PM Cup NVA National Volleyball Club League, Tiptop Help Nepal Club and Tribhuvan Army Club both won four straight matches to boost their chances of placing in the championship game.

After a valiant victory in the men's league at NSC Covered Hall on Wednesday, Help Nepal and Army tied with 11 points each. However, Army kept first place in the league standings by defeating Help Nepal by a predetermined score. Help Nepal had 1.18 percent of the vote, compared to Army's 1.24 percent.

In a see-saw fight, Help Nepal defeated Nepal Police 3-2. Help Nepal, who is currently in first place in the league, won the first set 25-20, but Police came back to take the second set by the same score.

Help Nepal restored the advantage by winning the third set 30-28.

Police did not give up easily and won the fourth set 25-18 to knot the game once more. Help Nepal won the match by a score of 24-22 in the fifth and final set. When the score was tied 22-22, assist Nepal in scoring two points in a row.

Army, the heavy favourite to win the championship, struggled to defeat APF Club 3-2 in a gripping five-set contest. Army fell down in the first set, 18-25, but made up ground in the second, 26-13. By winning the third set 26-24, APF reclaimed the advantage. Army maintained composure in the face of the APF's assault, winning the final two sets 28-26 and 17-15.

To begin play in the league, Sailung Baghdungha Sports Club defeated Danwali Milan Club in the other men's match by scores of 25-19, 14-25, 22-25, 25-21, and 15-13.

Police are in fourth place with nine points, while APF Club is third with 10 points.

In the women's division, the Police secured a spot in the championship round with their fourth straight victory. Police defeated APF easily in three sets, 25-16, 25-15, and 26-24, and finished first in the women's standings with 12 points. With eight points, New Diamond is in second place behind the Police, while APF is in third with eight points.
