Kathmandu, Host Nepal has started with a win in the Prime Minister Tri-Nations Cup football tournament that began today. In the inaugural match held at Tripureshwor-based Dasharath Stadium, Nepal defeated the Laos by 2-0 goals.

For the home team, Ananta Tamang opened the scoring with the first goal in 30th minute of the match while Nawayug Shrestha added the second goal in the 56th minute.

Ananta was also announced the 'Man of the match' in the game. Three countries—Nepal, Bhutan and Laos are participating in the tournament.

The winner of the tournament will win 5,000 US dollars while runner-up team will receive 3,000 US dollars. The tournament will run till March 31. The best player of the tournament will get 500 USD and Man of the match receives 250 USD.

Nepal will play its second match against Bhutan on March 28. Similarly, Laos and Bhutan will play against each other on March 25.
