Pokhara Avengers Retain Kushal Bhurtel and Six Others for NPL Season 2
Kathmandu, June 29, 2025 — Pokhara Avengers have retained seven key players, including marquee all-rounder Kushal Bhurtel, for the upcoming second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
In an official statement released on Sunday, the franchise confirmed the continuation of Bhurtel along with Sagar Dhakal, Aakash Chand, Kiran Thagunna, Bipin Khatri, Dinesh Kharel, and Tritaraj Das.
Among the retained players:

Kushal Bhurtel is an all-rounder.

Sagar Dhakal, Aakash Chand, and Bipin Khatri are bowlers.

Kiran Thagunna, Dinesh Kharel, and Tritaraj Das are batsmen.
Meanwhile, the team has released five players from last season — Dilip Nath, Narayan Joshi, Sunam Gautam, Amrit Gurung, and Sudip Aryal — as part of their squad restructuring ahead of Season 2.
Pokhara Avengers, known as the most expensive team in the league, are also planning to bolster their lineup with high-profile international signings. Team owner Subodh Tripathi stated, “We are in talks with renowned foreign cricketers. Strengthening our squad with international stars will not only boost our team but also elevate the prestige of the NPL as a whole.”
According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the second edition of the NPL is scheduled for November 2025, though an official date is yet to be announced.
