Prabha and Himal to Represent Nepal at World Para Athletics Championship
Kathmandu, Sept 24:
Two Nepali athletes will compete in the upcoming World Para Athletics Championship, scheduled from September 25 to October 5 in New Delhi, India.
Himal Aryal will compete in the F55 category shot put event, while Prabha Angdembe will participate in the T47 category long jump. Both athletes secured direct qualification for the championship through bipartite selection.
Prabha had previously made history by winning a silver medal at the 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix held in New Delhi.
The official delegation includes Nepal Para Athletics Association President Omnath Sibokoti and team manager/secretary Sangbu Bhote. The team was given a formal farewell by National Sports Council Member-Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising during a ceremony held in Satdobato on Wednesday.
Except for President Sibokoti, the team will depart for India on Thursday. Sibokoti is scheduled to travel a few days later.
