Kathmandu, Karim Benzema's hat-trick helped Real Madrid defeat archrival Barcelona 4-0 in European football so that they could advance to the Copa del Rey final. After scoring a hat-trick last Sunday against Real Valladolid, it was Benzema's second in as many games. Moreover, Real Madrid defeated Barcelona by at least a four-goal margin for the first time since January 1995.

After winning the first leg of the semi-final by a score of 1-0 in Madrid last month, Barca, who was going for their fourth straight Clasico triumph this season, appeared to be headed for the championship game. But after controlling the first half of the second leg, they unexpectedly crumbled to lose 4-1 overall.

On June 6th, Real Madrid will play Osasuna in the Final.
