GOA, INDIA — The Nepali National Women's Football Team kicked off their SAFF Women’s Championship campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bhutan.
In the opening match held at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, India, Nepal managed to edge past their neighbours to secure all three crucial points.

The lone, match-winning goal came in the 23rd minute of the first half, courtesy of a brilliant strike by defender Gita Rana. Despite continuous pressure from both sides for the remainder of the game, Rana's clinical finish proved to be the decisive factor, securing the win for Nepal.
