Seven central members of CAN boycott CWC meeting

Kathmandu, Seven central members of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) have boycotted the central working committee meeting that began in Pokhara from today. The members boycotted the meeting demanding the resignation of the work execution committee. As a result, the CAN meeting started only in the evening.

The dissenting members have also submitted a memorandum to CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand along with demand of resignation of the work execution committee.

Speaking at a press meet held this evening, Rishiram Gautam, central member of CAN, said that all decisions about the controversial T20 league were made in the meeting of the work execution committee and the board was not informed. It is our demand that the members of the Committee and the Governing Council should resign in order to save the reputation and dignity of the CAN.

The work execution committee comprises CAN President Chand, Executive Secretary Prashant Bikram Malla, Treasurer Roshan Singh and member Durgaraj Pathak.

The CWC meeting which started in Pokhara is scheduled to discuss about the suspension of former captain Sandeep Lamichhane, special general meeting of the association, recognition of two more district associations under Gandaki province, amendment of CAN's statue etc.
